Daisy Florist has the best shopfront position of any florist in Birmingham, and it has been clever about what to do with it. The Great Western Arcade runs above the Snow Hill railway tunnel between Colmore Row and Temple Row, it has been a shopping arcade since the 1870s, and the units in it are small, glazed and constantly walked past by people with office salaries. A flower shop belongs there in a way it does not belong in most city centre retail. The cleverness is the graduation business. Birmingham has five universities and a very large annual convocation season, and Daisy openly sells timed delivery to ceremonies, which no other florist in this guide advertises. It is a narrow, seasonal, entirely obvious market that most shops leave to whoever is selling bunches outside the hall, and taking it seriously is the sort of thing that keeps an arcade unit viable. The ordering experience is the other strength. Prices are banded openly, under forty, forty to sixty-five, sixty-five to a hundred and above, which is more transparency than most of the trade manages, and the range tops out around two hundred and twenty pounds. Against that, this is a young business with no visible history and no stated position on seasonality or sourcing, so it scores poorly on roots and on green for the straightforward reason that there is nothing to score.
Hours are 10am to 6pm on weekdays and midday to 5pm on Saturday, closed Sunday, which is arcade retail hours rather than florist hours and suits the office trade around it. There is free UK-wide delivery on orders over a hundred pounds, same-day slots on selected times, and collection from the unit. Alongside the bouquets there are weddings and events, bespoke work, cards and accessories, and floristry workshops.
Best for
Graduations, and anything you want to collect on foot in the city centre. The arcade position makes it the easiest florist in Birmingham to reach without a car.
What I would order
If it is for a ceremony, use the timed graduation delivery rather than trying to arrange it yourself. Otherwise pick a price band and let them design into it, which is how the site is structured anyway.
Worth knowing
The 10am opening is late if you were hoping to buy on the way into work, and the Saturday midday start rules out a morning errand. There is no published founding date, no phone number on the site, and no stated seasonality or sourcing policy.

Who it is not for
Anyone who wants a long-established shop with a track record they can check. Petals of Piccadilly is a ten minute walk away in the other city centre arcade and has been trading for over twenty-seven years.
How it compares
The two arcade florists are the natural pair. Petals of Piccadilly has the history and the lower ordering friction by phone; Daisy has the better website, the clearer pricing and the graduation specialism. Neither is the city centre's best all-round shop: that is Ethos at Brindleyplace, which has twenty years behind it, though it publishes far less about price than Daisy does.
Getting there
Inside the Great Western Arcade, entrances on Colmore Row and Temple Row, four minutes from Snow Hill station and eight from New Street. Do not drive into the city centre for this; the Clean Air Zone and the car park charges will cost more than the flowers.
