The verdict

B1 Blooms exists because of the building it is in, and that is both its whole strategy and its whole limitation. The unit sits on the ground floor of the ICC on Broad Street, sharing a concourse with Symphony Hall, and its natural customers are conference organisers, delegates, performers and the people who send flowers to both. For a bouquet that has to reach a green room or a registration desk in the next twenty minutes, nothing else in Birmingham is close. Outside that job it is hard to make a strong case. There is very little published about the business: no substantial website that I can find, no price list, no stated delivery arrangement, and no house style visible anywhere in the public record. What exists is a phone number, an address and directory listings. That thinness is why the scores here sit low across the board, and I want to be clear that low scores from thin evidence are a judgement about what is publicly knowable, not a claim that the work is poor. The honest summary is that this is a convenience florist in an unusually specific location, and the location is worth a great deal to a small number of people on a small number of days.

Ethos Flowers is the other Brindleyplace-area florist and the better all-round shop, with twenty years behind it and a proper premises on Brunswick Street. B1 Blooms only wins when the destination is the ICC itself.

Getting there

Ground floor of the ICC, Broad Street, next to Symphony Hall and a few minutes from Brindleyplace. The Library tram stop is the closest; the Clean Air Zone makes driving a poor idea.
