Tiddly Tulips is the most commercially inventive florist in Edgbaston, and it is also among the most expensive places to buy a single bouquet in Birmingham. Bouquets start at fifty-five pounds and arrangements run from seventy to two hundred and seventy, which sets a floor well above the city norm. Whether that is good value depends entirely on which of its several businesses you are buying from. The inventiveness is worth spelling out, because it is unusual. Alongside the studio work there is a subscription service, a corporate line, weddings and events, and a flower trailer that goes out as a pop-up. Nobody else on this list runs a trailer. It is a smart response to not having a shopfront: instead of paying rent on a window all year, you take the window to a market, a wedding or an office car park on the days it will pay for itself.
